PS. i feel kind of sorry about the millions of dollars worth of royalties you missed out on though. |

i think this is about a guy whose high school sweet heart broke up with him maybe during college and started enjoying her freedom and youth. while the guy is still hung up on her..waiting for her to come back after the boys of summer has left. summer meaning youth like early 20s.. after waiting for so long he just realized that its never gonna be the same. but he's struggling to make his mind up... |

like many i also think this is about getting over someone. but one thing about the chorus, is that i think she's looking at the last picture of her loved one, and burning it...while tear drops fall on the picture and touches his face it keeps burning. i guess most of us know the burning feeling of letting go of that last memory..hehe.. |

i think the verses are pretty self explanatory. the most beautiful part about this song is definitely the chorus. i think it means something like; when time goes on, my country will get better.. (when i get older i will be stronger) people will draw inspiration from my country and will be a symbol of freedom (probably cos somalia is the country that is suffering the most because of wars and UN's cruel responses to it...such as the economic sanctions) And then it goes back - it's only a momentary dream and you always go back to reality. the poor will get poorer and the rich will get richer.. |

OK i joined this community just so i can give out my interpretation to this song and see what people will think about it:). for me it goes from Greek mythology, politics to religion here goes: 1st off, i DON'T think this song is about love or a girl. if at all its only about love for humanity. 1st verse: In the beginning everything is sweet and simple, You grow older and you have to decide whether ur just gonna 'walk down the dark path' like others, or your gonna go further down a better but tougher path (sailing; perhaps more fun?) 2nd verse: love vs easy: people tend to do either what they love or whats easy. its a close call. Money takes precedence over everything. even when people just need shoes and socks to keep them warm. or wait a second, maybe she needs me?! this could be how brandon sees the relationship between man and money. I was just sipping on something sweet; meaning i was just being innocent minding my own business. i dnt need the complexities of this world. Build up: The violence is getting to me, even when i try to keep it away (by breaking down the door to my mind?). I haven't lost my mind, i'm just being corrupted by the world around me. and it's dragging me down with it! Chorus: reflection turn my world to stone: i think he's making a reference to Medusa (the evil chick with snakes on her head that turns every1 who looks at her in to stone). The hero could only slay her by looking at her through a reflection. But here, even when u DON'T stare directly at evil, it will still get to you. correction, or being correct or right will make you an outcast. so sometimes i just get on with it but right now i'm breaking down! 3rd Verse: The corruption is gettin to children. they're stealing and terrorizing instead of playing 4th verse: Ever since Abel committed the 1st crime by killing cane humanity has been going down We try to hide it with pills (Drugs you take to get high and to escape from reality cus ur took weak for it) and pride (pride is basically how you hide ur inner weakness to the outer world) It's a shame cus we've always had a choice! and we CHOSE to be like this. And the heaven knows it! and you will be judged! THe last verse: Maybe most of the world is corrupt. but still there are believers. and hope! an almost dead hope of Bombs and people like George W. Bush. are tranquilized |
