This song is a perfect example of what i went through at my darkest time. For me, this song is about someone going through a depression but also trying to get out of it. "Far away This ship is taking me far away Far away from the memories Of the people who care if I live or die" [The depression is the ship taking them away from the people who care about them, and are trying to help them. It's like they are becoming distant.] "Starlight I will be chasing a starlight Until the end of my life I dont know if it�s worth it anymore" [I believe the startlight is the light at the end of the tunnel. The end of the pain & sorrow. The person is trying to get there but they are starting to give up, and think life isn't worth it anymore] "Hold you in my arms I just wanted to Hold you in my arms" [personally this part is jus meaningful to me bcuz the depression began after my boyfriend of 4 years broke up with me. It wasn't the only reason I was in the slump but it sure as hell made me feel like maybe just being with him again would help me get better] "My life You electrify my life Let's conspire to ignite All the souls that would die just to feel alive" [that same person makes their life feel burnt. & conspiring to ignite could mean to resort to suicide, just as the part of souls wanting to die just to feel alive prob means that life doesn't feel right] "ill never let you go If you promise not to fade away Never fade away... Our hopes and expectations Black holes and revelations Our hopes and expectations Black holes and revelations" [for me this part is about the people who are willing to help. so if they stay & promise not to leave then the depressed person will not let go as in die... the next stanza is the part where they get better & get hope again] weird interpretation i know, but this song means all this to me & only me :p |

the song is about a couple that is going through a rough time, & the guy is trying to survive the rough patch: "You are the fire on my apartment floor Sixteen stories, I'd rather burn then fall" meaning he's rather fail trying than fail by giving up. however, in the end it's all just in vain bcuz it still doesn't work out not bcuz it wasn't meant to be but bcuz things led to the break up: "It isn't fate that took us all by storm It's just the turn of a card" my fav part is: "I'll move on You'll call it fate, I'll call it karma We had our time, it was fun While it lasted" it's just so real & i'm a huge believer of karma. what the person is trying to say is that the other person thinks it was NEVER meant to be, but in his mind it was all a result of actions that they made. |

| i loveeee this song!!! it reminds me of my ex completely! he was def the way the lyrics describe. guys can be apathetic tooooo trust me. what i think the song means is the person singing it is trying to make the relationship work while the other one the "silent angel" just sits & doesn't care or put any effort. freaking hate indifference! but yeah i love how this song had such a resemblance to my own experience. | |
