| First of all Smash Mouth did not just make up some character "The Fonz." The Fonz is really a character from the 70's show "Happy Days" and they probley watched it growing up. The Fonz was the height of cool at the time, so by using the name Fonz in the song shows that the character in the song was much cooler than the singer. In the song, "Fonz" dies. In the show, Fonz does not commit sucide because he's having too good of a time greasing his hair, driving his motorcycle, fixing cars, and picking up chicks. | |
