my line for line interpretation haha i enjoy doing it: I know a ghost, And when doubted his truth reveals incredible vengeance. saying that he knows a something or someone, maybe a prophet like phenomena that has warnings or prophecies that will bring bad consequences if not followed or listened to Vanity is a sepulcher, a sepulcher is a tomb saying that pride will be your demise Do as you please and shame will follow saying that you can do whatever you want but there will be consequences Languages rot and insects lose interest; Mountains of plastic; melting away saying how cultures are dying and conformity is beginning to take over notice how English is becoming one of the most common languages and is shadowing over what some consider less relevant languages this is an example not necessarily the one used in this song mountains of plastic refers to such fragile foundations and that they can be destroyed easily As long as these struggles are aimless, We will all be standing still, standing still. if our efforts have no meaning or purpose we wont move forward or achieve anything. like running in place When worded correctly, truth is never a cliche; This is because so many are attached to their deaf ears. referring to ignorant people those who arent open-minded and no matter how many times we say something important (truth) it will never get old depending on how we depict it Collect the leaves, count them, name them. Study each and every single one of them. maybe saying how we should appreciatted everything and be less ignorant chorus All mistakes can be marked by borders. All of love can be traced to a maker. It's seems as if what is most important, Isn't noticed when forgotten saying that all mistakes can be distinguished by something and that emotions show proof or lead us to a maker: god next line self-explanatory "The sun and the moon: you'll always take them for granted. these lyrics are so tight. heres the meaning i see: "These writings are to those who have weeped. These writings are to those who haven't looked deeply enough into the correct resolution." self-explanatory, for those who have felt sadness and who havnt seen what is actual or who havnt seen the correct, clear picture "Wrong again but stronger now, we can face this. Fight life with life." saying that we learn from our mistakes which makes us stronger, and that there is hope fight life with life like "fighting fire with fire" i love when people change sayings in a clever way like this "All glory to the one in existence. Bring upon your name, your grace, your everything." referring to god and how he is the only god; a christian belief... self-explanatory "Hold hands and stare into the circle. What are we looking at? Rumors and Rumors and Rumors. Rumors and Rumors and Rumors. Assembly: Disintegration. Rumors and Rumors and Rumors." describing like the circle of trust between eachother and how when we stare into it we see rumors; mistrust, lies the definition of assembly is: a company of persons gathered for deliberation and legislation, worship in this case prob worship. they are saying that this group is splitting apart because of rumors or lies most likely referring to how we are being divided because of the difference of beliefs in the christain faith and church. "perished" in connection with^^^ "Tombstones serve as mirrors and the graves are infinite. Take a look through the lens and through your eyes. End the partitioning." saying that the tombstones is a direct metaphor of the outcome the division has brought: death or problems and it is still continuing:infinite almost like when we look at ourselves in the mirror we see what is actually going wrong and we have an epiphany or sudden realization except we are staring at tombstones. they tell us to realize this and end it chorus Enemies We'll go for your throat if two are enemies, they want to kill each other and this song is saying we shouldnt be we should realize that our differences are dividing us and we need to come together instead of splitting apart |

this is my interpretation. feel free to disagree. its my opinion "He wears his heart safety-pinned to his backpack" it is as everyone says, about a lonely person, this line is almost like the saying, wearing your heart on your sleeve meaning you put it out there vulnerable almost being naive and giving your heart to anyone or the first person you meet. we become more willing when lonely "His backpack is all that he knows" < like one of those nerdy kids who you see with their backpacks bulging from all the books and hunched over because of the weight. his backpack is his best friend becuase he has no friends "Shot down by strangers whose glances can cripple the heart and devour the soul" judgmental people:the popular crowd. when all eyes are on you it can really make one uncomfortable esp when you dont fit in "All alone he turns to stone While holding his breath half to death" being alone he freezes when talked to. prob lack of communication skills. these lines are self-explanatory im pretty sure many have felt this way when talking to someone who makes you nervous whether or not you can talk to people "Terrified of what�s inside To save his life He crawls like a worm from a bird" maybe scared of what he could turn into. cuz in order to fit in some people change into someone people want to see. like in the song a letter from janelle by chiodos when it says "to remember who you really are/its so easy to get lost and constantly having to present whatever face you believe a person wants you to see" then he tries to escape crawling away like a worm from a bird (describing the situation as abject or hopeless) from reality or presumably a high school setting with bullies loneliness is the key idea in this song "Out of his mind the way pushes him, whispering Must have been out of his mind" going crazy from loneliness, doing things he thinks is crazy. maybe having the bravery to approach others. "Midday delusions of pushing this out of his head Make him out of his mind (out of his mind)" thinking of things that may be out of the question and trying to push them out of his head (self explanatory) "All he knows If he can�t relieve it, it grows And so it goes He crawls like a worm, crawls like a worm from a bird" pain--for example--that cant be relieved, grows. thats the idea (self-explanatory) again bringing up how it is almost hopeless to escape from this situation there could be many references this song has one of them possibly being a high school setting |
