I feel this song is about discipline of the mind, or in other words, trying to keep your feelings dulled because of trauma or just generally a shitty life. Making your mind a quiet place.First verse he is talking to himself, daring himself to bring up those memories "Push the dirt, make me feel". Second verse he has decided this is the best way, and does it "drown the monster (feelings), make all bad dreams go away". And thn in the chours he is justifying hes decision to the world, and saykng atleast he doesn't feel like shit anymore "Everythings in place, so much brighter from today"

I feel like this song is about love, or at minimum about human relashionships. He has at some point been shut out of someones life/feelings and now feel like he he wants to shut out everyone else, and love is just a distraction.

I think it sounds like a person with angermanagement issues. He/she wants a place to call home, with people he/she cares about and likes, but then reality kicks in and heshe just wants a place where heshe can be alone and release the rage(storms still free to roam). Also fits in with the last words as people with aggressive persons in their life might feel more free if they would be gone. On annother note the vampire interpretion does sound pretty convinsing aswell..

I would not call myself Christian, altho I do believe in god. And I probably will get lots of spam for saying this, but did we not "get permission" from god to have abortions? I haven't seen anyone get smited for it yet. And if god is allmighty he could simply have decided for humans not to come up with the idea, which he obviously didn't. As for the quoting the bible part, the bible did not come by email from heaven, it was after all, just people, who wrote it. So I would not hate people, condemn people, nor think they are sinners simply for enjoying life the way they like it, even if a group of people 2000 years ago said so. I might be a realist, heretic or whatever, but this is the way I think. Anyone is free to contradict me or try to spout their oppinions on me, I will not hate you for it, nor will I care if you think me wrong. Thank you for reading.

It depends on how you look at things if you ask me.. I know some people "hate" humanity(or atleast part of it) and want all kinds of holy judgement/retribution to rain down upon us.. I do not share in this oppinion, but I still feel that as we pretty much deserve mother earth to be pissed at us, a new beginning might infact be a more desireable alternative than others she might have in store for us.

I feel this song might have a couple, if not lots, of references to H.G.Wells's book The Sleeper Awakes, aside from the name(obviously..) I also find the kapitalists that The Sleeper(whos name I don't recall atm) meet, that tries to use him for their own greedy purposes, and himself fighting the greed of being the wealthiest man on the planet.

This song is probably about the feelings and sensations of the smith, Ilmarinen when he forges the Item of eternal wealth of which the whole Kalevala story is pretty much about, Sampo. He also seems to realise that this item will be used for not so good purposes as he would want it to, which is why they sing about poison and deceit.

I don't know anything about Mikaels life nor his sorrows and that stuff, but if I look at the lyrics without looking much deeper than that I would say its not about someone getting killed, but instead about an assassination. ordered by some agency/gerilla group or similar. "Beating, heart still beating for the cause..." would fit with that as the assassin would be killing the person for his cause. Might also involve the assassin either trying to be "kind" if you can call it that or that he knows the person, as he doesn't just stab and walk so to say
