I was partly named after this song, and it is a lamplight in a black forest for me. It tells me that I CAN be confident in relationships and take charge, and that it is alright that I am so different from everyone else,in fact it's great ('you know that she's half crazy, but that's why you want to be there') and it reminds me of my wortha s a woman, and how inspiring and wonderful I am, how much O have to give as a person, as a lover. The song, of course, is not about me, but I do not mean it tells me these things personally: it just reminds me of these truths that really, I know. |

It's a really warm song, telling someone they can just relax and they'll be safe: 'do what you want cos i'll do anything...' 'i'll be on the other side' (i'll be there for you) 'when the water is too deep (when it all gets too much for you) you can close your eyes and really sleep tonight (you can just relax and let go of it all)' 'your beauty blinds (you're beautiful just the way you are)' okay so the song obviously isn't all about that, but there is definately a theme of this in there. |

To me this is the song I listen to whenever I feel weak, overwhelmed, powerless. It is the ultimate song for providing empathy. I used to have a really bad eating disorder, in recovery this song was always there for me and helped me a lot. 'I've got a blister from touching everything I see' To me this is a line of guilt: it represents suffering the consequences for interfering too much, for messing things up, for oing things wrong. |
