Rasputina – Incident In A Medical Clinic Lyrics 16 years ago
Before I researched about snail fever, I had an idea about this song being about a person who is masochistic, and then this mental "disease" was spreading across, say, conservative Victorian society. In any case, the first/last line of this song definitely gives it deeper meaning.

Rasputina – Transylvanian Concubine Lyrics 16 years ago
I think this story is not only about vampires, but about a state of life. The trophy/suburban wives thing is one place where this would apply, like people above have said. Also, I see direct connection with Interview with a Vampire--both the song and the movie have this sort of melancholy ecstasy floating about. One revels in the riches and the pleasure they have, but inside they are suffering with despondency. Vampires are wealthy, aristocratic beauties, yet they must live with being immortal, irredeemable murderers.

It might just be because of my personal experience, but I can see parallels with anorexia. For me it was as if one second I was revelling in my thinness and "beauty", and the next I was aware of the disturbing wrongness of this euphoria.

Rasputina – Endomorph Lyrics 16 years ago
I never knew what this song meant, but recently I had a little epiphany as I listened to the lyrics carefully. I think it might be about a girl who is known for deceiving and leaving her lovers, as it "don't pay to be careful, don't pay to be nice". And then how she mentions the punishment "coming for no reason", meaning that if she were to become attached to someone it would only lead to undeserved heartbreak. And "praying every day" are the people who wait for their soulmates to come along. And she's an "endomorph" (inside-changing) because she puts on a new starstruck face for every lover, and just as capriciously leaves them. Just my 2 cents :)
