Tiffany – I Think We're Alone Now Lyrics 16 years ago
Given the original group and the time period it was written(1967), I've got an opinion. I'm fairly certain there's several euphemisms(children behave...And watch how you play...) in the lyrics, and to me, it's pretty easy to make the connection that the song is about underage sex. I'm thinking probably young teenagers. (Obviously you wouldn't have guessed that by the music video Tiffany did, but since when does music videos match their lyrics? I mean you had little kids singing SoulJa Boy's Superman, which is probably the most degrading and disgusting song ever written about women.

ANYWAY

The verses clearly indicate that they're young and that they're doing things that aren't looking kindly on.

Look at the way
We gotta hide what we're doing
'Cause what would they say
If they ever knew and so we're (Gee I wonder what they could be doing?)

obviously the song is about some intimate relationship, because of the chorus.

And then you put your arms around me
And we tumble to the ground
And then you say

I think we're alone now
There doesn't seem to be anyone around
I think we're alone now
The beating of our hearts
is the only sound

They're falling on the ground, they want to be alone, their hearts are probably racing....and they don't want to do this in the presence of anyone else...certainly not their parents. Seems pretty simple to me.

It's a cute song...it's fun, it's catchy, but it's about sex. Most songs are. Well that our love or drugs.
