I agree with watchmewatchu.. the lyrics can basically be interpreted directly.
A girl who fell so hard for someone who maybe had a bad reputation, and it turns out all her friends who didn't approve were right, an now she just wants to forget it all.
I love this song, and depending on my mood, when I feel this same way she's feeling, this song can be so perfect!! |

I don't have much to contribute about analyzing this song.. but yet I feel the need to comment.
This song automatically makes me cry. (the gender rolls are switched in my situation)it reminds me of my ex boyfriend, my first boyfriend.. I never realized I loved him until after we broke up.
I think this song is SO powerful because of its simplicity, and it can apply to such a wide audience-- to anyone who has gone through a tough breakup. For me, it gives me mixed feelings, it makes me want him back more, but it reminds me I have got to move on, for both him, and myself. Obviously the narrator still reminisces about the times when they were together, which I find myself doing every single day. Reading just a few of these other comments/stories has brought me to tears. |

I think this song is pretty to the point, here's my take (much of it has already been said..)
It's about a girl, who is struggling to take the risk for a guy.
She's clearly crazy about him, but even the little things make her so crazy, and she's scared that he has so much control over her, emotionally. Right now, she has a chance to have him, but she needs him to meet her in the middle.
One of my friends told me he thinks of me whenever he hears Colbie Caillat. Another told me that this song specifically reminded him of me. It's a nice song :) |

this song is complete bull. at least in my experience. It's cute, but can be disappointing. I am not dissing on Jesse, I think its a great song, but in reflection, this song once made me smile, but now I cry. Perhaps its because I am still in high school, and now single :P |

My ex boyfriend, who is quite musical, dedicated this song to us.
I still miss him a year after we broke up, and I'm only in high school..
I love this song, and I love him. Whenever I'm feeling sad, homesick, or anything like that, I listen to this song because it brings me so much comfort.. even though it makes me more sad at the same time. Matt Nathanson has beautiful songs! And I agree with dial, he sounds a little bit like Dave Matthews, 'Crash Into Me.' Which is also a great song. :) |
