This song was written by nate in the perspective of his parents. His dad was the first part, meeting his mother, marrying and moving to arizona (nates home state. Then the second part, "You think that I nearly lost you, when the doctors tried to take you away" that I believe is in the perspective of Nate's mother regarding the time his Dad got sick and her saying that it's not time for him to leave yet so take her hand and they'll make it through together. Definitely my favorite Fun. song there is. |

John said in an interview i cant remember when or where, but that gravity is just sort of like their anthem for the tour. It's something which takes on a different meaning every night according how the crowd responds. He also said when he was writing this album he was trying to give alot more attention to breath and emotion in the songs rather than filling them with words, no matter how great his lyrics may be. I think he left this song very open to interpertation so not to discriminate to the individual's beliefs and it also allows his to add nuonces in each night to change it up |

Ok i have an observation. I think just with all of the thoughts i have gathered over the three albums that the Pimp/priest was actually the dear hunters father. and the The River is Ms. Terri and the Lake is the boy because a river flows into a lake just how ms. terri has influenced the boy through the whole journey. Any thoughts? |
