I feel like this song's about two persons broken inside who have found one another and they just ride the road of life by leaving all the difficulties aside even thoguh there are times that all the bad stuff appear on their way. They are like friends and lovers at once.He sees her as siren and he knows he is trouble and he has warned her about that and she has accepted him for who he is. However there are times he recalls in his head all the haunting memories of betrayal in his life that don't leave him alone and at times he feels sorry for her that she has chosen him. He feels she's the only light in the darkness he's living. |

Such an amazing song and the honesty in these lyrics just make it outstanding.. This song in my eyes is about loving a woman so fucking much and then having her leave.. You feel so lost and desperate that you become addicted to the idea of getting her back even though you know that you know how impossible that is. She's in your mind when you wake up,she's in your mind when you fall asleep. She's in your mind while doing whatever so you say I'll swallow my ego and I'll try to approach her but it's just no use for her since she has made up her mind and she will turn you down all the time.. I love the line where he says he wrote her name on the dusk of a car that was leaving out of town. It's like a modern interpretation of writing a letter,putting it in a bottle and then throwing it in the sea. So much pain inside two verses. I've lived this song letter to letter. This is poetry my friends. |

I'm 99% sure that this song is about Tom's dad who left him,and his family when he got kicked out of the school.. ''How long can I string you along? The chorus is obviously reffering to all the try Tom did put into in everything he was doing so he can make his father be proud of him. Seems how this hadn't have happen until then.. The two verses are about Tom being sick how whatever he was doing wasn't enough or right for his father and about all the things that he was told to do.. This one is a personal touch from Mark I guess :) So..Fentoozler means idiot and for me the whole song is going to Tom's father.. It's like a monologue |
