I agree that the song has a lot to do with God. However, I'm not so sure he is praising religion. This is what I feel like he is saying in regards to religion: So many people live the lives they feel that God or whoever is telling them to, when really they have no idea what is real or what is not. How is one to know? "There's nothing that's ever as it seems. This life is full of dreams." People try and justify their actions and such through religion. But people need to stop burdening themselves with what they believe they have to be doing and just live life full of love and enjoy themselves. Be one with nature. Be tolerant. Because in the end, we all are the same. So enjoy life while you've got it and spread the joy. That's why the congregation in his mind isn't praising their own religion but rather loving "you", which is everyone and anyone. Life is not meant to be answered, so stop seeking for answers and just take in the moment. Find the beauty in everything. In respect to the rest of the messages the song is sending, I basically agree with what everyone else said. Except the marijuana part; i don't believe he is being that literal when he's saying "live high." Sorry. |
