I totally agree. There comes a point where you're just done with it -- and there's no more damage that they can do because they've already caused enough pain. And you make the decision that you won't put up with any of that crap anymore. She's saying that he can try all he wants, but nothing will work anymore because she's totally done with it all. And that is basically what it's all about. I love this one so much. One of my favorites by her. Lyrics are so true. |

I take the lyrics of the song as her and this guy gave the relationship a try and for some reason it didn't work out. They're trying to be friends, but it's not working because she's thinking of how the relationship could have been. She thinks that it's all or nothing with the lyrics "We were worlds apart and you see, it was so much easier to be". She can't stand being around him without thinking about what they can't have. But she still can't give him up in the lines "But don't you dare go avoiding me. It kills me and yet it keeps me going." I dunno. Just my opinion. I think this song can be taken a few different ways. |
