Tks for saying what you are suppose to imagine when you hear the song, it really is the best song I felt while I was driving (for sure probably because what I was living at the time dont remember but a song comes and reach you most of the time depending whats appening in your life at that moment) I was alone and I had just past the border from u.s. to home (canada,mtl) and the that songs started, I had heard it before and liked it but never payed attention to the words probably cause i was not driving, and that day comming back from u.s. back home, and when im alone i always listen to music in the car very loud when i like a song, and the as soon as I heard the chorus start... the rest is history (if my english is not perfect sorry its not my first language) The image of it like you said is monotony, loneliness, (a band cannot sing that...) If I would need to put a picture on this song: bob seager would be alone with his guitar on the passenger side while he would be driving (probably on his way to next town that he his expected to sing) and you would'nt see any excitment in his expression... and it would be a pic takin at night and you could see stars in the sky cause there is no light its very dark... ok lol I should maby send some ideas to disc companies lol ;o)

Hi, I am not a fan of pink floyd, not because they are not good but because I never had the chance to want to discover them, for sure I've heard alot talking about them, but I only know 3 songs, and thats because its 3 songs that I love. (hey you, another brick in the wass...of course, and my favorite song of all times, and beleive me my list of favorite song is very long, its 'wish you were here' anyway, and they were all songs that I did know who sang them) And when I was hearing stuff about them, I had an idea of what sounded their music and it did not really interest me, but the stories I heard was all the time interesting... like the story of the wizard of oz that I remember was facinating listening to it. Anyway my goal of writing to you is I like the way you describe what hey you meant you sound like someone that knows his pink floyd and your description is so clear (I always found that it sounded complecated listening to pink floyd, probably main reason I didnt when i think about it, that you need to see the movie to understand and if you want to listen to wish you were here album well to fully understand it you need to listen to the wall, or to listen to the wall well theres more then one, anyway it was weard for me at that time...) And since yesterday I checking forums and facks about them, I spent 4 hours on reading what people were saying about the meaning of wish you were here, anyway a thing brouht me to another... and so today I went to check the meaning of hey you and I read you, and wanted to know, as a fan, and probably understanding my kind of music based on the 3 I like, would you suggest me to rent the movie, or listen to a album... What should I do first that would open my curiousety and interest for them, where should I stard.. or not really worthed ill probably get board and by not paying full attention ill miss the magic of it..... anyway, so sorry to write you a big message like that, but i would like to want to be more interested in pink floyd (...and some songs Ive heard were so boring like only 3 phrase in it... but i still dont judge cause probably I need to understand the concept) tks ... and sorry....
