whatever it's about it sounds so calming and peaceful. i don't think it's suicide, i can't imagine drowning yourself being anything other than terrifying. also the line "i'm not giving up" seems to cancel that out. i agree with the addiction thing, but i was thinking more an addictive relationship. giving into something that you know is not the best for you but it's so lovely that you can't help it. a lot of her songs seem to be about a kind of dependence on something or someone. the idea that it's "so cold and so sweet" just seems like one of those relationships you want to give up on but always keep going back to because you know it's not the best place to be but it makes you feel good and whole and at peace at the time. also i love the film titanic and have been obsessed with the story since i was 7, i love the parallels, even if it's unintentional it's brilliant! |

i felt pretty bad about the fact that this is about to become my story, until i thought hey, if hayley williams can feel like this and not feel bad then so can i! also the whore did it to me first, after a year and a half relationship, what goes around comes around biatch! to the people that said she's being judgmental or whatever, she's pissed, she'll say whatever she likes. i doubt she literally means this girl is a streetwalker and will never amount to anything more in life, it's just a word used to insult someone you're mad at. and i absolutely love the line "i never meant to brag", she waited patiently for this guy, she didn't purposely try to break them up or be like those million other girls looking as innocent as possible to get what they want etc etc, she didn't exactly intend for it to happen the way it did, but it did, and she is bloody happy about it. i never meant for it to go down this way, i never meant to rub it in your face, but you're a whore and i hate you .. soo i will. |

i was driving around with my ex today who i'm still in love with but he's kind of dating the girl who broke us up and this song came on and i couldn't help but laugh. i know it's from a boys perspective but countless times i've conjured up horrible images in my head .. "but she's touching his chest now he takes off her dress now, let me go" .. even before all this i interpreted this song to be about an ex that someone isn't over yet and getting caught up in imagining them with someone else. someone else may have said exactly that but i'm not sifting through 23 pages of comments, haha |

how have i never heard this song before?! haha it makes me think of prejudice and people being judgmental. it's all about love right? "we're going to hell just because we're werewolves" makes me think of people who are judged for being gay, you know the hardcore christian guys who are all like "you're going to hell just because you're in love with another man" blah blah blah. to me it sounds as if someone is judging the two of them, looking down upon them, and he's saying that he's in it with her, whatever happens it happens to the both of them .. "my love it's quite a thrill" .. it's dangerous, but they're in it together, regardless of what everyone else thinks. and maybe .. without her, it wouldn't be okay, but while she's there he doesn't care what the world thinks, it's only them. not saying it's about being gay, obviously, but older people always seem to be quick to judge young people in love. It's 11:57 she tastes so sweet And I want more Just a second, lay in heaven As my heart hit-hit-hits the floor that sounds like sex. haha. but yeah, they're doing something "wrong", it's deemed as wrong because they're young and "helpless" .. i don't know, i'm probably completely off. and for the record i am actually catholic, but i disagree with the kinds of people i was talking about. |

cue cliched comment about an ex but mine is avoiding me hardcore at the moment, he screwed up a few things and doesn't really want to deal with them so he just refuses to speak to me. i sort of viewed it like that. all the talk of living in a cave or cage or whatever it was decided it was, and how this guy is kind of trapped by his guilt and avoidance issues and stuff. i hear that she tried, she wants him to be freed from everything but there's not a lot she can do or say so she "won't look back, 'cause there's no use", she'll move on with her life and hope that he grows up a little and can life his to the fullest too, in due time. this is an entirely personal interpretation but that's just how i see it. |

You know what I love about this song? It reminds me of my bf's ex; from what I know of her she was a bit of a ratty whore. And this one time I saw her, as she walked in the room the line ' douse yourself in cheap perfume it's so fitting of the way you are' started playing. Haha, i'll never forget it. I always interpreted it as being about depression. These lines sum that theme up for me .. -I am outside And I've been waiting for the sun -Cause we are broken What must we do to restore our innocence -Give us life again, cause we just wanna be whole And then in the second verse, talking about a voice that 'came to me tonight' .. some kind of realisation, possibly a religious one (I agree with the worship theme :] ) .. Idk, maybe about what this persons life has come to and realising that all they really want is 'to be whole' again. |

I assumed it was about being a little lost in life, kind of just floating through and looking for more but not having a clue where to begin. Maybe about losing faith in someone and needing to find someone else to rely upon 'cause this person really can't do anything for you anymore, and until you have that person to rely on you really can't get back on the right path and stop 'traveling endlessly' through life. | I've never really listened to the song that in depth, but the first couple of times I heard it I interpreted it with a religious theme; I thought she was kind of saying that she has these strong beliefs that applied to her and she wasn't about to give up on them regardless of other peoples ideas and such. And that ultimately she wanted to help others believe the way she would .. although this seems completely wrong now it was fitting at the time. I think I was doing a lot of that when I first heard it, standing up for my beliefs when others told me I was wrong. | |
