| It seems druid-ish because it's really old - there's versions of it dating back to the 16th century. The lyrics are symbolic mystical imagery, so it seems kind of out there...I really think it's beautiful, especially with Joan Baez singing it. | |

I definitely think this is a song about people who are two different races. I can see how people might think it's romantic but he put on the album for a reason. Probably inspired by all the racism that sprung up after 9/11... There's a lot of talk going `round now Let'em talk you know you're the only one There's a lot of walls need tearing down Together we could take them down one by one I don't necessarily think it's a romantic song either - it could just be about two guys who want to be friends. This is one of my favorite songs from The Rising - it's kind of bittersweet but undeniably positive and beautiful. |
