I think he used to forget what happened in the places he used to go when he was younger. Maybe he's saying that it's been a long time since acting the way he did when he was 20... maybe he'd get so trashed that he wouldn't remember stuff... was ok. And now he's painted as this party guy that hooks up with everyone, he kinda showed that in his video. the guys in the video are all the friends he twitters all the time, bob maron, the chineese guy, tony held, james smith. I couldn't tell you who the girls are. So for the most part, the peoole in the video are people he knows well and has connections with which makes it less sad. I think his idea of fun has changed a lot since he was younger, because it was pretty well known that he used to smoke, he did an entire rolling stone interview high. As far as it goes now, he twittered that he doesn't anymore on 4/20. "who says i can't take time? meet all the girls on the county line, wait on fate to send the sign, who says i can't take time." This song is about a lot of things, but that line reminds me of the line in home life where he says "i will tell you this much i will marry just once and if it doesn't work out i'll give her half of my stuff, it's fine with me, we said eternity" Might be why he dates so much...But the song is about being in control of the freedoms in your life. That's what the video captures. Who says he can't get stoned? if he did it's his choice and own free will to do so. I could continue... because i'd reference to other songs in comparison to this one on what this one means. but it's a good song. |

This is kinda out of no where, but i think that lyric might be about how he's always dating someone new according to the media and he's kinda like "that's news to me" about what he hears so it's kinda like the paper or what ever gossip magazine is saying we were at the club and we were doing this and that... so the lyric to me is kinda joking, yeah that totally happened but I don't remember it. So it probably didn't happen at all... hope that helps |
