Lead singer Tyson Ritter reported to MTV in 2003 that that they had a new song that was written on tour called "Dance Inside," making it the first song written for Move Along. According to the article, Ritter said the song is about a girl, but that it pertains to present-day happiness and isn't a lament over yesterday. "We wrote it on the road after I met a beautiful girl," Ritter said. "It's about being in love and stuff like that. It's about passionate love, on a deeper level than I used to write about before.'" If you watch the video clip, you'll find that this song is about a love triangle where there is a man and a woman who are to be married, she doesn't show up and it's because she's in love with another man, John M.
The vibe i get, is that John's character loves this woman back but also knows that a relationship would be next to impossible, there's a scene showing he's friends with the man who got stood up at the alter.
At the end of the video, John's character hops into a taxi, either to go and see the girl, or to get the hell out of there because it's best for everyone... If you ask me, perhaps its the latter.
So basically, I'm thinking this song refers to anyone who's ever been a situation where, they've had feelings for two people at once.. Or where their partner has fallen for someone else or vice versa =)
JM's songs are so meaningful and i reckon there's at least one of his songs that a person can relate to! |
