come on guys... this song is about Ian's self-loathing of his lyric writing. basically he read a poem that made him feel less confidant about his songwriting ability and this was written to reflect his feeling on this issue. "Backwash districts sprung from Ra's bright hips Reduced to silkscreen hand job new car ego trips And it's just endless combinations of the same old shit" examples of some of his lyrics and stating that they all seem the same to him, useless. "Sloshing back and forth across some continents All that talking it ain't got no use when it's just mal digestion that's been haunting you Along with reflux opinions from your ulcer moods" either he's talking about people writing lyrics in general or talking about how they stay with him (in his head)as he travels, but i doubt either are correct writing these lyrics is pointless when your reasons for being upset are trivial and he gets into weird moods and writes down lyrics that reflect them "You're just a litany of horrors like the evening news you're just depressing... does anyone else care to add the rest? |
