| The Deep Dark Woods – How Can I Try Lyrics | 15 years ago |
These are the correct lyrics: How can I even try when I'm Twenty-five hundred miles from my home? I feel so all alone I feel so all alone Sixty-five years till I am gone But I can't wait that long No, I can't wait that long No, I can't wait that long I'm going back to where I was born So I don't feel so torn Back to where I was born So I don't feel so torn Back to where I was born So I don't feel so torn Back to where I was born So I don't feel so torn Back to where I was born |

| Built to Spill – Pat Lyrics | 16 years ago |
I believe the song is an ode to Pat Brown, one of Dug's old bandmembers from 'Treepeople' who passed away (i'm not sure why or how). What is most heartwarming is that fact that the song features guest guitarist Scott Schmaljohn, the former co-leader (along with Dug) of Treepeople. The song itself is very reminiscent of older Treepople songs. In essance, it's two older guys singing about their good friend who died, and how they still see and talk to "him" (his influence) every day. |
