to me this song is about the battle of thermopoile when the group of spartans held of the persians. Now i dont know if you would consider that event greek mythology but the reason i came up with that was becasue it could be written from two different points of veiw. it could be the tratoir because leonitous would let him be in the spartan army because he wasnt up to standard and he felt like he let his family down becasue he dad was a spartan warrior. or in leonitous spot were he was the king of sparta and he lead his men off to this battle to hold off the perisan for his glory and sparta glory. the spartans had no fear when in battle so that was replaced by faith in one another and to die with a spartan next to for honnor. when they took there last stand when they were all died he wanted them to forget the failure he had done and have the rest of sparta take care of it. and sparta was one of the few countries that stood up to the persians. |
