I love this song. My great grandmother had alzheimers too, so I can definitely connect with this beautiful song. I just don´t really get this part: "Now the world is fading all around her" Is her alzheimers getting worse or is she dying? "Sharing a sundae at the counter" "He's goin' on and on about her" Who is "he"? Her son maybe? Or is grandpa still alive? "Bet she's right there right now" Does that mean she has died or is she just in her fantasy world? How do you interpret the last verse? |

"There's three in the HALL from those pictures in the closet" = He put three pictures of his ex girlfriend into the closet, so only the holes from the nails are left where they used to hang. "Two in the bedroom from that night I lost it" = He smashed two pictures in the bedroom when he lost it. I don´t think he actually punched holes into the wall. That would be really painful. |
