This is kinda a deep song. Both uplifting and depressing at the same time. Time is the Ripper. Basically, one things for sure, we all are going to die. As time goes on we move closer to our deaths. It's about how the classic rock star life itsn't all its crack up to be. They're making fun of it and saying how it's pretend. I'm feeling rough, I'm feeling raw, I'm in the prime of my life Let's make some music, make some money, find some models for wives I'll move to Paris, shoot some heroin and fuck with the stars You man the island and the cocaine and the elegant cars ^this stanza shows the more appealing side of it what people think of when they're going into it. Later it goes on to explain what you've given up. You're friends, family, freedom, ability to just be by yourself. Missing the innocence of their youth. Then they go on to say how they can't have real relationship. Most rockstar marry model or bunnies. Someone whose beautiful but not nessiciarly their true love. Obviously a lot of them end in divorce. There's also the not too glamourous classic death of choking on your vomit from being passed out after a hard night of partying. |

| Comepletely agree with what you're saying. Although I have to disagree with "rap's not emotional". Every single song out there MUST have some emotion to it. Every single piece of literature has some sort of emotion(s). It could be love, hate, depression, lust. Those are all some strong emotions that many songs (including rap) have in them. So basically you could say all types of music are "emo". Just thought I throw that in. =] | |
