To me this song has nothing to do with religion. Knowing that a hexagram is a six-pointed starlike figure, I'm more moved by chinos lyricism within this amazing song. Sometimes titles of songs have nothing to do with the essence of the song. When I first played this album, from the very beginning, I was truly amazed by the songs guitar riffs an catchy screaming of 'and the crowd goes wild'. I think this song is about a girl an stardom, or maybe a girl who thinks she is all that, and is so narcissistic, yet goes about her life like nothing else matters. I get this notion from the lyrics 'god it's so sweet of you, and I know your proud...the crowd goes wild...the camera'. I feel like it's a girl who loves the attention but cannot really handle it, all the while chino is disgusted with her, all like 'and you know I'm proud'. To me it's like he is being sarcastic, and is real pissed off with her arrogance. The screaming at the en where chino is like 'it's the same sound' is my favorite part of the song. Woot woot |

At first thought, perhaps this song was about drinking and it's adverse effects on creating and destroying relationships. I couldn't seem to get a direct reference as to what the 'water' was? But everyones responses On this song have been amazing. They are so spot on. The idea of the song having a murderous theme seems plausible. This song definetely is about a girl. It may deal with the female cheating on the male figure in the story, or it may be about a past experience of a relationship chino tells us. Either way, a great song wooh! The lyrics are simple yet superbly deep, as alotta deftones songs are, plus that guitar breakdown at the end is fucking amazing. Best song on the album. Hole in the earth is good too |
