| Bright Eyes – You Will. You? Will. You? Will. You? Will. Lyrics | 14 years ago |

This song is extremely simple in structure and narrative, I do not see how it's different point of views or complex in the nature which some have tried to make it. This is what can be extracted out of the lyrics; A guy is an asshole to his girlfriend. She sort of leaves him. He sort of blames her and keeps being an asshole to her (second, third and half of the fourth verse). Then, in the last section of the fourth verse, he's sort of denying or repressing the fact that she left him; pointing out that she will come back to him. And the last part's are the doubt's and anxiety that she'll perhaps not come back. There's no reason to make it more complex than this. It's very straightforward and do not display any impressing mastery of words or any of that sort. It's actually surprisingly prosaic. However, what makes this song good is that it taps into the nature of relationship between couples, when couples are just at the verge of disassociation, having broke up several times and gotten back together. But there's always that one break up that feels too real, like it's really over. And sometimes it is and sometimes it isn't and this is what this song expresses; the uncertainty of the future between people even though one might think that it'll be all right, there something intuitivly saying that it wont. |
