Britney Spears – If U Seek Amy Lyrics 16 years ago
I totally agree with ohlyndsey, Amy is a metaphor for sex. If you look at the line 'I don't know where or when and now their closing up the club', I would say this is referring to going out clubbing/partying looking for a lay and at the end of the night coming up dry, ever heard of the term a 3am pull :-) (ie. someone you grab at the end of the night that you maybe wouldn’t have at the beginning), and of course 'If you seek Amy' is FUCK ME (but everyone knows that);-)

Robbie Williams – Bodies Lyrics 16 years ago
I like this, particularly the theory behind the 'bodies in the cemetery and that's the way it's gonna be' line, that's something that never even came to my mind, but now I've read your comments it seems obvious.

I'm sorry for the confusion too Another Victim. I thought it was a case of people who make fun of others because they think deeply and enjoy discussions.
Feeling a bit guilty now :-Z
We're all entitled to our opinions, no harm no foul :-)

Manic Street Preachers – If You Tolerate This Your Children Will Be Next Lyrics 16 years ago
Brilliant analogy!
Regardless of the songs true meaning, to me it makes me think of trying to do better in my own life in order to protect the next generation (or my children) from experiencing any hardship or undue pain.
Not as deep but still as poignant :-)

Robbie Williams – Bodies Lyrics 16 years ago
I was also thinking that the song tracks Robbie as he goes through his career, ie in the beginning he feels as if he is 'living like a deity' he has bags of confidence he believes in God and his love for him 'Jesus died for me'. Then as time goes on he starts to doubt himself 'Jesus didn’t die for you' he tells himself, even as the backing singers sing 'Jesus died for you' (maybe his fans still believing in him)but he is still doubting himself. Also the reference to God saving him from his reflection could be that he sees himself as his own worst enemy and the one who keeps putting himself down. The bodies I think refer to every one around him who is present in his life but that he feels no immediate connection to ie the press, his critics and to some extent his fans. Finally I think the reference to looking good naked could mean he hopes that even if he was stripped of every thing he would still be accepted and loved.

I am inclined to agree with this analogy and in particular with the vanity of human kind and the strive for perfection, not only through religion and striving ourselves to be godly like (as we see God as the ultimate perfection, perhaps) but aesthetically too (Robbie in the past has openly spoken about his troubles with image, so maybe that’s where this comes from), however ultimately perfection is never obtained because we are in the end, just human or 'bodies'.

P.S. Another victim - your comments would be more suited to heatworld.com me thinks.
