had to comment again. This song is just brilliant. I love it. It makes me feel sad at the end because I remember when I split up with my ex I listened to this song and it just made me think what I just lost and that I'll never have her again.

this song is amazing. Beautiful.
I used to think it's about his mate taking drugs and it's a sad/happy song. Sad as in his mate has got proper addicted to the drugs and that he might overdose and die. And saying that no matter what he'll always be there with him, to help him. And a happy end because he's helped his mate get off the drugs "ye I know I'll see your face again" meaning that he has saved his mate and he'll see him again because he's alive.
But I'm glad I know now that it's about his dad. |

The only Green Day tune I like
This song is so happy and sad at the same time. To me it's personal as well. I think the song is about a break up but not to cry about it, think about the good times you had, think about the laugh and the special moments you had.
I always think about my ex when this comes on. I hope she had the time of her life with me and we did share some amazing moments, but life goes on. We all have to move on. |

I know I'm common as fuck, I got a working class accent, live in a council house, my blokes in the family are all manual workers, the woman work in shops, I go to the football and hate rugby, I went to a normal school.
