I woud say that the part of choosing another over her is said because she accused him of cheating, they broke up and he has found someone else now, but now she wants him back and hes choosing this other person over her which he thought he could never do hence the lines: Well the truth it fell so heavy Like a hammer through the room That I could choose another over her That you never saw the signs That you never lost your grip Oh, come on now That's such a childish claim Now I wear the brand of traitor Don't it seem a bit absurd When it's clear I was so obviously framed When it's clear I was so obviously framed That verse to me seems like she accused him of cheating, and thinking she was so blind not to see it. however she was accusing him because why else would he say: "thats such a childish claim" and go on to say he was framed. Now you act so surprised To hear what you already know And all you really had to do was ask I'd have told you straight away All those lies were truth And all that was false was fact This could be said as she is realisin that he was telling the truth, she had accused him of cheating, knowing she was wrong,maybe in denial of herself cheating?, and he had denied it, the denying being the truth which she now realises is actually true and fact. Now you hold me close and hard But I was like a statue at most Refusing to acknowledge you'd been hurt Now you're clawing at my throat And you're crying all is lost But your tears they felt so hot upon my shirt But your tears they felt so hot upon my shirt Shes obviously realised she was wrong and he didnt cheat, id say this verse is about her trying to get him to forgive her, as she was holding him close but he was just standing solid like a statue refusing to acknoledge the fact that she was hurt over accusing him of something he didnt do, afterall why should he acknowledge the fact as hes hurt she could even think that he could do something like that. i believe he didnt cheat but i think she accused him and this about how she realised she was wrong and shouldnt have accused him and now she wants him back however he has moved on with someone else and cannot find it in him to accept what she did (accusing him of cheating) or even the fact that she could even think of him doing something like that. |
