I agree. Love this song. And there's so much emotion in the words and in his voice, that I too feel like tearing up. I used to think he was asking someone if they would still be there if he messes stuff up in life. But after listening to it over and over, I started wondering if it's somewhat selfish to ask this great love of your life to wait and settle and go through the strife he got himself into. I think in true love, you don't have to ask that and the other person will be there without question. So I now think that he's talking to someone he might not have met yet. After personally going though a difficult time in my own life, I know I'm not in the state of being that I would like to be or how I used to be. Although I'm working on it, when the song says, "if i cant be all that i can be", "please wait for me", it makes me think how I feel. Like i'm asking this future person who I have yet to meet to wait for me till I get it together and can be all that I can be. Atleast those are my thoughts. great song. |
