RealityandPurpose, for the most part I agree with you. Thrice used to be my favourite band in the world. (The Illusion of Safety is in my top#5 of all time). IC and TAITA are also solid. I hold a huge amount of respect for their desire to continuosly progress and to do something 'different' but I just did not feel Vheissu or The Alchemy Indexes one bit. I really don't like the direction they took with that. However, Beggars is a different story. I really didn't know how I was going to feel about it but it did not disappoint one bit. Rekindled my love. I'll admit I don't think I will ever give it play like IOS but it is a huge step up from the last few releases. Circles is an amazing song. Calling it a 'sleeper' song is where I disagree with you. I think the whole record flows wonderfully. Anyway, regarding the meaning, I think russellcp and thestrokeslp got it covered. |
