i LOVE this song. its amazing. i love the black cab presents where jim james and co sang while driving. was just amazed.
i love all of jim james's work, and think evil urges (and the switch and havoc fans getting pissed) was a great move by jim. love the motown influences he credits.
Also, the first verse is wrong. It is "challenged me" not caressed. |

I think the lyric is "special unspoken without sound" rather than A sound, but I could be wrong. I heard it that way via a concert this past August, but that lovely rasp could of hidden the article.
It is about losing love, and at the time, he thought his life was over. A poster above got it right. |

I just went to an amazing concert this past August, their live Cold Desert was breath-taking. I love this band so much. Anyways, I believe the first verse (and the only one written before recording) "special unspoken without sound" rather than the without A sound. I could be wrong though, wouldn't be the first time. |
