I'm surprised there are not more comments on this song yet. I think it's phenomenally written. The lyrics seem to be, just as nanders said, about faith. Faith in something big. When I first really listened to it, what stood out to me was God's plan for my life. |

Personally I see this song being about not being able to see his girl for a long time, perhaps a long distance relationship. The lines "Remember me, she said smiling. Write my name somewhere safe" communicate to me as "dont forget me, even though we wont be seeing each other for a long time." Also, the line "touch and taste fades with space" sounds like he saying after a while of not being with her it becomes harder to recall those memories of what it was like. I basically see it as Jim saying he misses someone far away |
