Mumford & Sons – The Cave Lyrics 14 years ago
It's funny you say this, I heard this for the first time and thought immediately of the book of Job. The whole transition of how he lost everything but just kept pushing until he made it through his trials. It was that last bit of the chorus that really hit me "I'll know my name as it's called again." It's that sense that you have regained your self worth, and you're proud of yourself once more. I dunno, I might be completely off, but that's what I got out of it. Cheers!

I think it's a little of what Scribbler is saying, and a lil of what the rest of you are saying.

We're still fighting and we're still the same broken little creatures what smashed rocks together until we discovered fire, then consequently went to war over said fire. But at the same time love kinda trumps all other desires and emotions. Nothing can change a persons motives faster than falling in love. So despite the fact that YES we're still fighting wars and oppressing people we don't like and lead less than perfect lives, there comes a moment that is so perfect, a moment in time set aside for each of us when we find that someone and makes everything else seem insignificant, so much so that yes "the entirety of human civilization has been building up to it." Sometimes we have to wait for it, but in the end it's out there waiting for us.
