The Used – Light With A Sharpened Edge Lyrics 16 years ago
Just so you know the Catholics believe the almost the same thing about forgiveness so don't go blindly dissing. I personally have a problem with all organized religion imho.

I was hesitant in listening to this the first time because it sounds a hell of a lot like pop which smells like a sell-out. But with further examination of the lyrics I realized that this song is beautiful. Now it is one of my favorites.

If only they had continued in this manner...

haha you moron. You don't even know what half those genres mean!!!

How the hell is there any kind of ska or grunge in ANY of their songs. Ska refers to a rock song with a Reggae beat. (I would know, my mom is from the Caribbean and knows EVERYTHING about ska, reggae, and soca)

And grunge!?! WHAT are you smoking?! Grunge is like fuzzy slow guitar with moaning lyrics or something.

I can maybe see nu-metal but even that is REALLY pushing it.

Anyways my real problem is that everyone thinks that calling music emo is somehow an insult. Emo means emotional and the used is overflowing with bitter, raw, emotion. Emo music will have whiny pop-sounding but still bitter vocals and often some screaming. I think that definately sounds like the Used.

Emo music rocks!

Emos do not.

There is a difference.

Emos.... get a life.

The Used – I'm a Fake Lyrics 16 years ago
HAHAHAHAHAHA

I love how everyone, including me at first, thinks this song has so much depth and meaning when really it doesn't at all. I love this song because it is about being true to yourself. This song is SATYRIC! This is making fun of the lifestyle that we call "emo". It's ironic because the message about him being fake is completely fake.

But before I knew that I seriously felt queazy the first time I heard it....

Great song.

Btw, when I say about "nothing" I don't mean literally nothing, I'm sure it is a reference to something or another, but my point is that it is just some cliche song who's lyrics have no real depth. If you want depth go look at Poetic Tragedy, Yesterday's Feelings, Cut Up Angels, or many other songs off of their first two albums.

ok when I listen to it I hear:

"It must be hard living tired in your shoes"

Usually when I am incorrect about lyrics to a song and I see the correct version, I hear it as it is really sung during my next listen. However, even after seeing these supposedly correct lyrics I still hear my original interpretation. I'm pretty sure this is what he is saying.

And yeah this song has no meaning because it was made after they sold out and changed their sound to be like any other cliche pop-punk band. This song, like many others off the album, is pretending to be deep when really it is a about nothing. However I still enjoy this song because it is the only song on LFTL that still has that raw, bitter, emotional sound that I love so much from the Used.

no there are definitely sexual meanings in here that are on purpose. Especially the part about "rose pedals" being pure and then later being abused. I may be taking this the wrong direction, but in Romeo and Juliet and other old fashioned literature pink and red flowers often refer to female genitalia and this may have to do with a girl being molested.

The Used – Liar Liar (Burn in Hell) Lyrics 16 years ago
Okay this may sound like a conspiracy theory, but since the Used does this all the time, its actually not that hard to believe. If you listen to the intro, the part starting a little bit before the inaudible screaming (which i would also love to know what it is saying) there are inaudible whispers and a backtracked message similar to the one in Cut up Angels (but not the same one because I know what that one says). Does anyone have any idea what it is saying?!?!

The Used – Poetic Tragedy Lyrics 16 years ago
Okay, EVERYONE wants to know what he is screaming at the end of the song that overlaps the lyrics:

"fighting frustration, he cries out to god or just no one is there a point to this madness, and all that he was, was just a tragedy"

It is correct that he is not saying "he takes his life". But what is he saying you ask? Well I can tell you:

He screams "why, world, why world, hate, you, hate you, bye world"
