Crystal Castles – I Am Made of Chalk Lyrics 15 years ago
So it's a duet huh. Sounds like something drowning.

Thursday – You Were the Cancer Lyrics 15 years ago
There's also '..all the time' which could be a reference to War All the Time. 'the string of a violin wound too tight it's gasping for oxygen' reminds me of We Will Overcome just because that song has a kind of strained sounding violin bit, which is kind of a long shot but it could be a reference.

Discordance Axis – The Third Children Lyrics 16 years ago
'The Third Children' is Shinji Ikari in Evangelion. There are lots of eva references in The Inalienable Dreamless (Pattern Blue, Angel Present, End of Rebirth), this is the most obvious one. The lyrics are abstract and deal with pain, angst and isolation. The 'Seasons of Dante' are the circles of hell which the narrator feels trapped in, maybe relating to Shinji's dilemma during Instrumentality, to accept himself and others around him or to live forever. alone.

AFI – Where We Used to Play Lyrics 16 years ago
This is my favourite Crash Love session song. It seems to be about alienation in general and a longing for the past. 'my own disowned me' might be a reaction to their fans who've given up on them, if they care about that stuff, i don't know. It sounds like a throwback, sing the sorrow kind of song.

AFI – Veronica Sawyer Smokes Lyrics 16 years ago
Davey had a crush on Winona Rider, he saw her smoking in Heathers, he's straight edge and couldn't accept it. Kind of goofy and melodramatic but I think it's sort of intentional. It's about naivity and disillusionment. Cool song, sounds like the Smiths.

Have a Nice Life – Holy Fucking Shit: 40,000 Lyrics 16 years ago
I'm guessing it's about the human condition in the modern age- 'we're machines that eat and breathe and look really cool', how processed and repetitious life has become- 'everything you do is planned out in advance, the stars push their dark wills down on you.' There's some Terminator references in there too, I think he's comparing the state of the world to the cold, machine-dominated future from the film, and if he could just go back in time and kill Sarah Conner, it would all be ok. It's a beautiful song, the part at the end when the distortion fades out and it's just clean strumming for the rest of the song is really pretty.
