Honestly, I feel like everyone who commented/interpreted about this song before me are totally right about the song's meaning. I find xxcaterinaxx's interpretation very interesting + deep, and it perfectly defines the song. But then again by saying that I'm feeling kinda biased because her interpretation of the song is similar to what happened with me and my ex-boyfriend. I know ATL didn't write this song for me + my ex, but it sure as hell feels like it u< :D Didn't mean to re-write the whole thing o: Just left some parts of my comment out the first time I typed it! >.< |

ahhh this song is so beautiful :) but there's a slight mistake in these lyrics xP instead of: "As if the sky had blown the heavens into stone" it's suppose to be: "As if the sky had blown the heavens into stars" |

omg I loveeee this song :) plus the entire album~ it's just so...amazing. even though LP's style has changed and their experimenting with new stuff, I like it and will support them all the way! I also think that a friend/gf or bf/relative/etc. knows about their problem, but have given up on helping them out since they're "sick of listening" to all the lies the person says about how they will try and quit drinking. also I can't help but think this song could be about two friends at a party or a bar who start drinking and what not. but then one of them realizes that if they keep doing it things could get bad/"weirder" if they stay (like if one of them drives home drunk they might not make it home. I get that from "I hope I can get home to you"). well yea...that's what I think. sorry for rambling on and on :P |

O: first off, I think this is one freakin' awesome song <333333 I also <3 the acoustic remix of it C: hehehe well for some reason in the beginning I feel like he's saying "this could be a test for disaster" instead of "this could be a test for desire", but idk...that's just what I hear. it would make sense 'cause like he's saying that he wants to see if things will work out with this girl or not, but either way it still makes sense if it's 'desire' or 'disaster'. anyways, I think the song is basically about how a guy hopes that things will work out with a girl that he's head over heels for, but he's afraid that she doesn't feel the same or that she's unsure about her feelings towards him. and if they do get together, he's afraid that their relationship will grow old due to the fact that she doesn't really like him and/or is just using him (goes back to the title of the song). towards the end of the song he's asking her if anything will ever happen between them, or will they just keep waiting for each other (I hope that made sense x.x). OR it could be about a guy and a girl in an on-off relationship (And every time it works out, you'd like to cash out), and the guy is wondering if he should continue dating her 'cause he feels like he's being used but he truly does love her (Tell me there is a reason to keep motion on our side. I guess I could be wrong, but my feelings stand strong). or maybe both of those things...just put together xD that's what I think...everyone's opinion is different. :P |
