this song is about letting go of someone or something and accepting grief. i helped me get over the end of a relationship that i was in for years. It made me realise that letting go is a choice, a difficult one, but in the end you also let go of whats painful (give up all painful) and that it seems impossible to stop thinking about someone (what seems impossible) but in the end its giving up the ghost, or withdrawal of that effort that finally sets you free. a difficult desision to make, but ultimately the only decision when you know that things are finally over between two people. the acceptance that no matter if you tried again, its all gone. very sad, but also very liberating, so subtle. i have cried a few tears to this. |

one of the best manson songs. i think he has captured exactly what it feels like to miss someone that you absolutely honesty love. and the pains not ashamed to repeat itself, i think refers to that thing where you think you can forget about it for five minutes and go to sleep and then your mind starts thinking about it and its like someone stabbed you through the heart with a screwdriver and the pain goes on and you think there is no point..... cheery X |

this song makes me think that he is talking about someone elses drug addiction and how that makes him feel. the bit where he talks about having no idea what the other person is talking about, he doesnt know what he means, he is trying to sleep and act natural, not to show that the persons behaviour is making him feel betrayed, especially the bit about the bullshit story that only he'd believe, when people take drugs they often hurt and lie to those around them, and this can give them no confidence. |
