Totally agree... I like how Homme's lyrics tend to be specific in their imagery/play on words, but at the same time are so specific that they're obviously not literal at times, so you have to zoom out, and when you do that, the range of possible meanings is nearly endless |

I don't think it's about the drug companies....
I think this song is about how society as a whole tends toward self-destructive attributes, but mainly how we are unaware of what we're doing to ourselves, and how certain people manipulate the populace. |

hm... so I was thinking that a parasol could be like the billowing dresses from the 18th century, and that the monster could be a vagina (covered in hair....) lol but I think that the song has to have more meaning than that. The video has a lady (but not really) walking around ordering people and in general just looking like she is the shit for some reason, so maybe the monster is that women have a certain command over people...? no thats stupid |
