This song covers both emotional, and physical forms of loss. Most songs of this nature don't do that, I think this song is a great success because of that. The lines "Suckle on the hope in light brassieres", "Sullen load is full, so slow on the split", and "And I'm breaking at the britches" seem to indicate that he misses her sexually,as well as emotionally. He manages to do this without: A) making the song smutty and B) making it popy Bravo Bon Iver! |
