even though i know that this song is a christian song and i'm not usually into that kind of stuff, this song has a special place in my heart always. i have my own personal experience and personal interpretation of this song. you see i got into some trouble with the law a while back, and i had been doing some pretty stupid stuff. anyway, after my legal trouble i had to slow things down A LOT. most of my friends back then didn't want to hang out with me anymore, because i wasn't as fun to be around and didn't do the same things that they were doing. only one person stayed by my side, helping me through all the tough shit that i was going through. that friend of mine was like my savior. he saved me from myself, he showed me that i had to live every moment to the fullest. he's the love of my life and i am thankful for my own personal savior and angel in him.
that's what i think of when i hear this song anyway. lol |

the first time that i listened to this song (actually listened to it, lyrics and shit) i had just gone through a really rough breakup. you know the kind, first love of your life, you can't imagine life going on in general without this person with you. the really crazy bad kind. anyway, i wrote a book about it (kinda) and as i was writing i listened to this song and i started crying insanely. when he sang the last few lines ("i know some day you'll have a beautiful life, i know you'll be the sun in somebody else's sky, by why not mine?") it became too much to handle. you see, in my book all of the characters names correspond to whatever force or being in nature they reminded me of. the guy who had broken my heart was the sun, the main character (loosly based on me) was the earth. it still makes me cry when i hear it, and that was years and years ago. |

alright pink angel. i have heard you dis on msi and pretty much any band that has come out in the past, what, 20 years? people like you make me laugh. you are so stuck in the past (either you are old and stuck on music that you grew up on or you are a younger person who thinks that it is cool to only listen to older music. it doesn't make you more mature). and you are so stubborn that you won't even give new music a chance. all you saw was the title and you started spewing shit. now i'm not saying that you will neccessarily like everything you hear, but sometimes you have to give something a chance, listen to the song read the lyrics and figure out the song. maybe if you had done that you would not have jumped the the melevolent conclusions that you did. the "what the fuck! i love jimmy page! who are these assholes who hate him? and why the fuck are they creating a whole song about how much they hate him?" then you automatically assumed that the whole song was an insult to jimmy page and led zeppelin, who i can only assume is one of your favorite bands. please, read over the lyrics, try to understand the song, then if you still think that it's a mean song, maybe say something. but you really don't have to continue your fight, it seems kind of pointless to me. it just made you seem like a jackass.
ps. i like classic rock too. santana, great white, the who, jefferson airplane/starship, elvin bishop, tom petty, allman brothers, pink floyd is one of my favorite bands, etc. grew up on it. so don't take me for someone who never had an open mind enought to listen to everything out there. i listen to classic and i listen to newer stuff. i like this song. it's a song that i can listen to and laugh. it's a light song. you sometimes need those too. |

i LOVE this song! it's so hilarious! if you don't understand the meaning, it's about this guy's lazy shitty ass roomie who metaphorically "jacks off" all day. this roommate is a total burnout loser and the singer is basically telling him to fuck off the whole song. especially at the end when he's listing all of his shit that he's taking back and "consider me another one of those bridges you burned. |
