Tupac Shakur – Troublesome 96 Lyrics 16 years ago
in reply to "retardotyler" your wrong in more than one way. it doesnt matter whether pac or not was a murderer. (and as for jail comment he was in n outa jail for way more than a day) and of course than caused him pain, having just released "me against the world" and incarcerated during its release thats torture, it went top of the billboards. but he wasnt rich. not during one period of his life did he fully get to enjoy his stardom. he was in debt to suge night of deathrow records to the day he died (he still owed him albums) cos he put up the bond to release him. The song Troublesome is 2pac warning the authorities that the state of mind he was in during this song, is what the poorer communities and minorities of 1995 los angeles were being forced into due to issues such as poverty and war. "since my last rhyme the crime rate aint declined". "like 25 to life never crossed their mind"= people are so frustrated that jail isnt an issue for them becoz they already feel trapped out on the streets. "scams are plotted over grams of rocks"= people killing eachother for drugs. "were guerillas in this criminal war'= the country is at war but they are the minority, like a group of guerilla fighters. its a warning of the troublesome state of mind that people were in and that it needed to change before mose people die. and as for the best line, thats by far "never leave the block without my heater, got me a dog i named him my bitch nigga eater"= the dog is hig gun, also refered 2 in 'picture me rollin' as a rotweiler that he feeds led.

Red Hot Chili Peppers – The Zephyr Song Lyrics 16 years ago
There are 2 many shallow minded people that are way too quik to presume that anthonys lyrics refer to drugs. the fact that his songs can be interpreted like that for you people who think you deeply understand what he means just shows that hes a talented artist. of course you can say an ex dope fiends words refer to drugs. dont the feelings of love/freedom/hope/happiness/joy/soberness etc uplift you? must "coming down no not today" refer to a drug run? during the writing of By The Way, Anthony had been clean for years, we know he can write about drugs but open your mind people. Zephyr refers to the feeling of liberation hes experiencing considering the group being back together/him being clean of drugs/him and john getting along again etc.. hes slipped so many times in the past but "not today". "take a look its on display for you" is a hope given to drug addicts to get clean n feel as good as he does. you can tell how elated anthony is throughout the whole album eg- dosed, i could die for you, cant stop.. his zephyr is a state of mind. its like a gentle breeze in the perfect wheather."did you meet your fortune teller"= are drugs going to decide what you do with the rest of your life. "what a way to finally smell her"= hes been in love heapsa times during his addiction, but how much better it feels to be sober and with a clean woman. "rebel in a liberator" probly refers to the drugs people around him think are freeing them, but him rebelling and not using. thats how he "finds his way to be a skater" becose him n his frends used to skate when they were young n innocent, before having been introduced to drugs. again, we can take it how we like, but the peppers music is alot more enjoyable when you dont immediately conclude the lyrics refer to drug use.

Red Hot Chili Peppers – Can't Stop Lyrics 16 years ago
this song is not only the 3rd best song the peppers made (after this is the place and desecration smile), but its not linear. its wrong for anybody to try and put one meaning to it. anthony kiedis doesnt write like that, hes way more complex. its a song that touches on alot of things. including problems and issues that we face, even tho thats hard to realise cos of how positive and upbeat the song sounds. thats just how amazing the peppers are. keep in mind all anthonys got behind him is 2 guitarists and an amzing drummer who looks like will ferell. the things this sond touches on include unity= "eastside love is living on the westend" (the rivalry between NY and LA), coming up in the world "go ask the dust for any answers come back string with 50 belly dancers" (living as a drug addict with no money and not knowing what to do, then coming back with a multi millionaire band with women hanging off thie tour bus), problems in relationships= "sweetheart is bleeding in a snowcone, so smart shes leading me to ozone" (the girl he loves is addicted to drugs but hes so into her thats shes making him do the same dirty things).. overall the song is about the evolution of the world and how it "cant stop". its a compilation of some cool lyrics including some that arent meant to make sense, just like some things in life. the last verse definately touches on love, the "golden generator" refering to the heart, not being able to stop the "gods from enginering" theres no need for "any interfering" because no matter how hard u try u cant control the emotion of love. then youve got "your image in the dictionary" wich probly means to ask yourself what do your actions say about yourself and the way u affect "the wave" refered to in the song. because he feels everything is connected. "the world i love, the tears i drop/trains i hop TO BE PART OF the wave cant stop". all in all, this life is more than just a read through so enjoy another masterpiece and if your interpretation makes u happy thats good.

Red Hot Chili Peppers – Don't Forget Me Lyrics 16 years ago
i think this song tells anthony writing from the perspective of hillel. it is amazingly well written. and as for fruscante's guitar in the backround, i havnt yet found words to describe it well enough. so.. hillel OD's and dusnt want his friends esp anth to forget him. "im an ocean in your bedroom" = when your lying in your bed upset or depresed, surounded by four walls, what could be more relaxing than having your best friend their to be with you? escaping to the ocean. "im the rainbow in your jail cell, all the memories of everything youve ever smelt" = thinking of the friendship that they had makes anthony happy. how happy? think about the metaphor. a rainbow in a jail cell. where your in a tiny cubicle, unable to see the grass, the sky, the sun, the moon, let alone a rainbow. imagine if a prisoner had seen one after years and realised the little things that hed taked for gratned, maybe as anthony would realise his friends company, smile, jokes etc were more valuable to him when he didnt have them." "im a meth lab, first rehab.." = hillel died of a drug overdose. "not alone, ill be there, tell me when u wana go " = what anth would want hilel to be saying to him if he were here. "im an inbred and a pothead" = could mean how close he felt their friendship was when they wud smoke weed together. as for the 2 legs in a toolshed that refers to anthony in school taking a chick during class to the shed to cop (the little memories that stick with u of your past). "im the bloodstain on your shirtsleeve", anthony was shooting coke when hillel died wich would probably make hillel feel like he was the cause of anthnoys bloodstains after he injected.

Tupac Shakur – Letter To The President Lyrics 16 years ago
tsct u 19 year old think you know it all, 2pacs song arent about non existent problems. firstly. is being raised by one poor single crack addict mother tryna raise 3 kids in the 1990s ghetto af LA not a problem? the mans only male role models were drug addicts and the black panthers that his family was involved in ("incase u dont know i let my pump go i ride for mutulu like i ride for geranimo") so how was he not gonna have his music influenced by his surroundings. and if u actually understood music u would see the 2pac was writing from the perspective of the president when he says "send more troops" becoz hes trying to say that before u try and solve the bigger problems in your country, then u have 2 adress the issue of the poverty in local communites, and sending more police doesnt fix the problem. "tired of being scape-goats for this capitalistic drug dealing". think about it. and if u think rap as a whole is gay then why are u even posting here? good music is good music. what the hell is joining the service gonna do, thats not the answer to poverty. thats just a stupid republican/democrat way of not adressing the real issue. "no hesitation inflation is covered by the white sheets" the lyrics are contradicting everything that your saying. even if he hadnt been through something that he wrote about, hes job is to make good music and he made the best music. "the concepts i depict are so visual that you can kiss each and every trick or bitch inside the shit i kick". anyway, this song is lyricaly amazing and one of my favourite verses from EDI Amin is the 2nd in this song- "oh you a baller in the white house? i hope u comfortable cos yo i spend my nights out with the lights out in the safety of darnkness amongst the crazed and the heartless" hes talkin about the fact that across the street from the pentagon theres people sleeping in tents in the gutter. at the end of the verse hes admitting that violent revolution is the only choice that the system has left them ("dont be suprised if you see us coming with nothing but artilery to free us").. i could talk about this masterpiece all day, but all im gonna say is look closer my man.

Red Hot Chili Peppers – This Is the Place Lyrics 16 years ago
yes, having also read the book, literally the "place" could be refering to his fathers house in LA, it could also refer to under that brige where everyone used to go and cop there drugs including anth. but metaphoricaly the place could be the state of mind youd get into with the drugs. "time gets fast but everything gets slow" probly means that he would do his upper weather it was speed or coke, then hed weigh it out with his downers weather it be alcahol or weed. "the devils plead to take from you what they need" the devils are the addicts who would give "you" (the dealer) any excuse or lie (plead) to take what they need (the drugs). "can i isolate your gene, can i kiss your dopamine" he felt that getting drunk was appealing cos he watched his dad and his mates do it all the time, dopamine is a chemical released in your brain when your happy usually during sex or taking drugs so thats how gud he thought it was at the time. but even though the song is so upbeat, he focuses on the negatives of using, in lines like "i dont wana do just like my daddy did." he probably also felt like love was an emotion that surpased the feeling of getting high. "the masterpiece of DNA" can draw u away from taking drugs. "on the day my best friend died i could not get my copper clean" his copper is his veins and he couldnt stop injecting that china white on the day hillel died.

Red Hot Chili Peppers – Desecration Smile Lyrics 16 years ago
i originally didnt think that this song had 2 do with anthony gettnig high cos of the pain caused from a girl, because it could have been heartbreak and depression that was "bad for his health" but if u take into consideration the lines such as "disinegrated by the rising sun" and "coca cola doesnt do the justice she enjoys" hes probably talking about turning to heroin to deal with the problem. he went on drug runs all night till the sun came up, and as for the coca cola line, coke slang for cocaine wasnt making him feel as good as he would have felt if he had this girl. however u take it, the opening 4 bars of this song are by far the best and most complex since (this is the place). "ive seen it all through someone else" could either mean that somebody else is with the girl that he wants, or that hes refering to himself in a sober state as opose to his desecration. "im slow to finish but im quik 2 start" probly means that his initial idea to solve his problem is 2 get high, even tho according to his book that lasted for several days at a time. John fruscantes backups in this give me goosebumnps.
