I'd like to note the similarities between Lost in You and Without You. It is almost as if this is a continuation of Lost In You or it's the same story with a darker tone. "I'm nothing without you" vs "I'm nothing at all" and the title of the song. If it is a continuation, then it doesn't look like there was a good resolution of Lost In You. |

| This song threw me offguard the first time I heard it. Definitely not what I expected from Three Days Grace, but it is a very beautiful song. The vocals and piano provide a very strong effect. Easily one if the best on the album. | |

I can see a couple of ways to interpret this song. The first that comes to mind is a breakup song. She left him and he doesn't want to get over her. It's still a fresh wound, he loves her and feels like it ended wrongly or they are taking a break and they shouldn't be. He doesn't want to find someone else or go on without her. It's an easy feeling the connect with that I'm sure we're all familiar with. Another way to see it is about having to depart and leaving a loved one. A soldier going overseas or a prolonged time away from home and he won't get to see her quite a while. He used to having her around all the time. They are two sides that make the same coin. Now that he's left he's reminiscing about her and everything he loved about her and just how much she means to him. He doesn't want to go on without her beside him. Given the nature of the rest of the album, particularly Last to Know, I'm sure it's the first, but I like to see it other way. |
