To me, this song is about his insomnia problem. When he says "Fireflies" I feel like he's referring to all the little lights that you see in your room when your electronics are turned on: "if ten million fireflies lit up the world as i fell asleep". Also, all the toys in the music video have flashing lights. "Owl" city because he's nocturnal! :P This metaphor of tiny lights turns into his dreams. |
