I think it's about lover's abuse (both mental and physical) leading to suicide. Hence "who i am retort to toiletmouth now louder answer the firmest fist and kiss." Meaning the person in the song tries to defend theirself when the abuser calls them names, but they just yell and hit in response and kiss later like nothing happened. "to find the god before he finds you first in dirty words and poison dreams" meaning the abuser is trying to find God before their actions catch up to them, but is going about it in the wrong way and just hurts more people. "like girls who flirt while boys are teens you're only asking for one thing it's never only make believe to me" meaning the abuser is only pretending to love the person, but really only wants one thing. The person in the song, however, doesn't see it as "only make believe". |
