Actually---coming from a non-super fan of anything in particular at all...I noticed this song is very much about lynyrd skynyrd and I was just talking about the death of MCA (beastie boys) and buddy holly vs waylon jennings (I learned tonight if there was no death of buddy holly there would be no dukes of hazards theme song (((well maybe))) tonight. But I noticed the lyrics earlier and felt compelled to share my take in the poetry. Hope you all see it and appreciate it because I am pretty sure its about the legacy of Lynard Skynyrd in the bar world.

I think the lyrics are "its so much better than the sunlight" Which is probably right because this song is all about temptation..."it" (that someone else) and "sunlight" (significant other) a guy is saying to his friend and his friend is answering "its just a mirage"....the grass looks greener on the other side but his friend says women are all the same. I like the way this song flows like a causal conversation. A guy telling his dude friend to just stick with the same girl and ride it out.

Im pretty sure this song is about punk music...and the people and events are metephorical. Because the raincoats were a punk band from the UK....and it looks like it might be a punk music history type thing... I really dont know enough about punk music though; dont know who johanna is... But I am almost 100% certain it is a story about "a punk".
