i love this song, because every time i listen to it i get a different meaning. more so in my situation.. for now you let him, just this once, just for now and just like that, its over self explanatory? but you think that maybe "just this time" could be something more... don't turn away dry your eyes, dry your eyes don't be afraid but keep it all inside, all inside we fall apart dry you eyes, dry your eyes life is always hard for the belle of the boulevard for me, the chorus influences the previous lines, "just like that, it's over" being emotionally unstable myself, if you tell someone about the things that make you sad, they may or may not be sympathetic. i feel like the chorus is kind of a "there, there" from the person [from, "for now you let him in" so "him"] but at the same time they want to kind of leave you alone because they're creeped out by the way you feel, it's hard being the belle of the boulevard.. the person on the outside line.. off to the side... i definitely know this song is about keeping your head high even though things may screw themselves up, hoping for something that may or may not ever come.. for the belle of the boulevard. |

| I don't like to think this actually, but i think this song is about a hooker or prostitute, or maybe a girl who might be teased/labeled to be in like a high school setting which could be the overall view of this song.. who is feeling incompetent that she doesn't think she's good enough and in this "occupation" she gets anyone but nobody's ever going to stick around for her in the end regardless if she has the "job" or not... | |

there's no sense in playing games when you've done all you can do.. i say that to everyone who's experiencing a tough breakup. :hugs: and my tears run down like razor blades... that's perfect accuracy of gut emotion. beautiful, remorseful song. |

"There goes my ring, it might as well have been shattered. And I'm here to sing about the things that mattered. About the things that made us feel alive for oh so long. About the things that kept you on my side when I was wrong." the verse is about having them want the other back, trying to convince them that everything they did wasn't deceiving, they weren't just there for action, they may have HAD THE REPUTATION my favorite song, hands down. ever. |

Sometimes it's so crazy but nothing can save me but it's the only thing that I have." my favorite part. i know this is about "finding yourself" but these lines make me think that you try to fit in using drugs, and when you find it's not worth it, you can't go back. your thoughts are temping and you can't belive it gets to you the way you never thought it would.... "If you'd believe it's in my soul, I'd say all the words that I know just to see if it would show. Now I'm trying to let you know that I'm better off on my own." ....and nobody knows about your drug addiction. and when you're going crazy/high/whatever you're trying to hint to them something's up but they don't see it and label you off as a basket case. i get it. |
