| Relient K – Down In Flames Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| Relient K Totally called out the church and pointed out a huge thing that needs to change. There needs to be power and we can't be afraid of it | |
| Barlow Girl – Porcelain Heart Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| Such a precious song. It really touches my heart to hear Barlow Girl going out and adressing the pain anyone experiences after a break up. It truly is beautiful. God created us whole and when someone hurts us, it goes deep. | |

This song is so beautiful in that it captures the essence of a Christian heart. Many people will believe in God because they hear He is great or because He saves you, or He loves you. But...when do we ever see God? Is He always there breathing in your face so that no matter where you are or what you are doing you can see Him right in front of your nose? Even though He is in the spiritual sense, it is difficult to keep that faith all the time. That you are never alone. This song always encourages to me to always cry out to God to show me His face and He does. Sometimes in the small things but other times in the big. Barlowgirl really adresses the doubt in everyone's mind and tells them straight out that you are never alone. |

| Barlow Girl – I Need You To Love Me Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| I think it's a little deeper than that. You could apply it to that. You know...true love. However, I see that this is God always by your side no matter what you do no matter how ugly or dark you are. There is beauty in a loving God who "has everything but still He wants you." It just about makes me cry everytime. | |
| House of Heroes – Field of Daggers Lyrics | 16 years ago |

I think House of Heroes is pointing out the darkness in the world with its persecution and destruction of innocence: "I see a clean blood running". I think this is a song of hope. "Woe to the king of nothing" (watch out Satan cause a new day is coming and a new kingdom is coming). There is such a deep longing in many of the House of Heroes songs to change the world we live in now and remove the darkness and the corruption. Spread wide Your wings, O God, Relieve this scarlet fever, Catch every tear of mothers in mourning. Bring life to tired hopes, Buried in fields of flowers, Bring many sons of battle to glory. With every drop of blood, Caged in this tired body, I long to bring my father to glory. Of course the "Who was and is and is to come" refers to Jesus Christ who will come and reign and end the darkness on this earth. As a matter of fact, he started that with the crucifixion, is continuing it through each of us (hence "I Long to bring my Father to glory") after the resurrection, and will finish it in the end. There is a new day coming |

| House of Heroes – Lose Control Lyrics | 16 years ago |

I think this is from the perspective of the rotten experiences in life where people say "why did this person die? Or why did this have to happen? God, that was rotten of you to let my friend die of cancer." Here, House of Heroes explains that these bad experiences may be painful and awful but they are good at the same time because people would not learn the lessons they needed to learn before them. Not to say that God does that to anyone on purpose. But, when these things happen, God is always there to use it to make the person stronger. The lines: "I am the death that makes your life seem good I am the pain that brings you close to God I am the prophet warning of the flood I am the answer you misunderstood I am the answer that you misunderstand I do the evil that an honest man can't I live in shadows that the enemy casts I have no future and I have no past" Really captures that essence. I think House of Heroes personified the bad experiences to be like someone who goes around under the disguise of being evil and bad but doing good by bring one closer to God or making your life seem good. It is weird, yet brilliant and I truly believe that House of Heroes really hit the spot! |

| House of Heroes – Voices Lyrics | 16 years ago |

first of all...I think the lines are "Though I am wretched, I am not faithless" instead of "go on, wretch it out, am i faithless?" This song really speaks to me after I read the Scarlet Letter where the main character has committed adultery and is forced to wear a scarlet letter "A" on her dress the rest of her life. The whole book is about her constant torment and turmoil. She believes the "A" is penance but she finds that she is not rid of her guilt. In the song, during the part with the message, he is saying that the greatest sin is not accepting the saving grace of Jesus Christ and leaving behind the sin. God has already forgiven the sinner, but it is our job to accept that forgiveness and leave the sin behind. |
