Seeing as how many people liked my comment, I assume you all struggle with acne/acne scars as I do. Not many people understand what it is like to have that, it makes this song a little bit more special because we are our own little 'team'. If you struggle with acne/acne scars just know that you are not alone and eventually your attitude towards what you feel/think about yourself will change in time...we are all beautiful on the inside and we have to let that be shown to everyone, rather than hide from your imperfections, you have to learn to rise above them. Thank you Lorde for this little bit in the song, it makes this song that much better...seeing as I can relate. :-) |

"Now bring my boys in, their skin in craters like the moon The moon we love like a brother, while he glows through the room" As someone who struggles with acne/acne scars, this line is beautiful! She's basically acknowledging guys (or gals) with acne scars and saying how she "loves them, like a brother" and showing how beautiful they can be with imperfections "while he glows through the room". Which ties perfectly with the songs meaning about being imperfect but loving being imperfect. |

This is just an awesome song! Obviously about Life, and how life is a race!!! There will always be "good days & bad days", every day's a crash. You just have to keep moving on. Everyday you have to prove yourself, be in 1st place. |

It is a great song, I think it is about life and I also think it is about following your dreams. "X will mark the spot Dig and you shall see Gold and diamond dreams Nothing comes for free" That part to me, means that YOU need to work hard for things that you want. "Nothing Comes For Free", your goals & dreams wont be handed to you, you have to work hard & earn them. "I will surf my soul, yes I will show them all today" To me this means that the odds are against you, you have to do your best & show them you can do better. It is a really great song, & implies to me since I have a dream that is almost impossible. But with hard work & dedication anything is possible! |
