This song is unbelievable. My brother played it at his wedding as he and his beautiful bride were walking out. I love it so much it reminds me so much of that I feel like I am back there every time I hear it. I wish there were more comments, but I am interested in whether other people have heard depression referred to as the "black dog"? I wish I was more insightful and could work out how this relates to this song x |

This song has a particular meaning for me. I am 29 and an alcoholic. I heard this song very early in my recovery 5 years ago (dixie chicks version). Every line in this song is so meaningful for me, it perfectly describes my journey back from alcohol abuse starting with "I've been afraid of changing cause I built by life around 'you'" and almost every line in the song seems to describe what I have been through. |
