Too Late The Hero – Who Are You Yelling At? Lyrics 16 years ago
So I could be way off with this, but I think this song has to do with Jared's (lead singer) career as a teacher. I think it would be so cool to have a teacher like him in school, but I can see how his students would react after finding out their teacher is in a kickass band.

"Just ask my friends. I wouldn't do this if I didn't love it/ But I love it"

By this, I think Jared could be Jared's response to his students asking him why he's a teacher if he's in a successful band. He's explaining that he teaches because he actually does love it and that "[he's] always been like this"

The other line that hints toward this explanation is "I'm telling you kid..."

Overall, great song and great band

Too Late The Hero – The Ground is Lava Lyrics 16 years ago
I agree with much of what has already been said, and especially with oblivion's about TLTH live. One of the best live bands I've seen. Pure energy and audience involvement, and Jared sounds exactly like he does on the record.

Anyway, I interpreted this song as being about a girl (not his girlfriend: "without the title you can jump from/ boy to boy and couch to couch") who is having a hard time giving up her life of playing around ("and as she looks up she doesn't recognize the face/ and this is not the first time") in exchange for a relationship with a good guy who likes her.

Great song, even better live!

Too Late The Hero – Auf Wiedersehen, Goodbye Lyrics 16 years ago
I think this is such a great song, and they play it so well live.

The lyrics are pretty straightforward. It's about breaking up with a significant other, who was probably your first love and took your virginity ("I gave you what you can only give one time")

I love the mindset that TLTH portrays in the chorus of being confident enough in yourself to know that it is the other person's loss ("This is, this as good, as good as I will ever be/ I'm sorry if I'm not what you're looking for")

Powerful song, and one I can definately relate to.

Agree, disagree? Let me know...
